Sunrise at Fairview Business Park

The big birding event in Erie County, Pennsylvania last week was surely the rare occurrence of 7 super cute Ross’s Geese at Fairview Business Park on Friday afternoon. Unfortunately, no BirdingPI.com staff members were on hand. A team was dispatched first thing Saturday morning, but as the saying goes, “a day late and a dollar short.” Nevertheless, it was a beautiful morning. (To see the Ross’s Geese, here’s an exemplary eBird checklist from local birding enthusiast Jackson M. eBird checklist.)

What a great essay on clouds and sun! Really lovely!
This Team Member was heading for the FAirview area on Friday, but got delayed at the nearby coffee shop and never made it. Darn! Sorry, Team Leader!

Yes, i think most of the team was partaking of the local donut shop’s buy-1-get-1-free sale on day old donuts. After all, you can’t live off birding alone.

Gorgeous sunrise pics! I have been on the lookout for a Kestrel at Tohono Chul for a long time–It is featured as a “regular” there! How lucky for you…

Always so nice to see American Kestrel – they are so beautiful! Had a lucky occurrence of two sightings in 2-3 days – pics to come.
