Spring has Sprung

Reporting today from the Long Pond Trail @ Presque Isle State Park this past Sunday, featuring another great, new-for-spring migrant, the lovely Blue-gray Gnatcatcher:

Osprey x2, one carrying nesting material

This is a really long distance, bad picture, but still just possible to see an adult Bald Eagle @ sitting on the nest:

Very shady/poorly lit, but still a very lucky shot of a Ruby-crowned Kinglet in flycatching mode:

Blue-headed Vireo

Wow! What a nice selection of photos! Loved the ones with spread wings! Really love the way you capture the birds in that pose!

Nice drawing of birder with long lens…. birds on the moon indeed!

It’s great to be back in spring migration season, after what seemed like a long winter. Expecting plenty of great bird activity now through May. And the Erie weather’s getting better! (Famous last words.)
