Speaking of mating, one time at Clear Lake, I was walking around a building and a female mallard came waddling toward me, followed by about 10 males. They were ALL interested in that one female. I chased the males away, much to the relief of the female! Another virgin saved!

Good thing the males didn’t attack! Tough to fight off 10 mallards.
