
While enjoying the Mallards on Walnut Creek Sunday afternoon, a couple birds flew by, first a Great Blue Heron (which unhappily vocalized a “Croak!” upon noticing human presence):

Also a beautiful, very fast Belted Kingfisher flying both up and downstream:




















Good thing the GBH didn’t attack the Team Leader and spear him! Great shots of both birds! Loved the wing spread shots!
Yes, indeed, lived to photograph another day! (The GBH was reasonably close due to flying along the creek, but still not too close.)
