Ah, nature. Never know what will show up next. These ‘fishy’ shots of Common Carp (Cyprinus carpio) – an introduced species – at Pymatuning Reservoir spillway. This is the ‘protected hatchery’ side of the lake; the carp congregate by the spillway for handouts. DCNR rules prohibit feeding birds – although that doesn’t stop anyone – but not fish.
Yummy! Can’t wait to eat that carp stew! Hope you got enough for all of the Team members!
This is the ‘no fishing’ side of the reservoir, which is why the fish are seen so easily perhaps. In ‘open water,’ they’d be hiding from fishermen.
