Part II of misc. bird content from Christopher Columbus Park:

Still more Great-tailed Grackle:

More Collared Dove (a.k.a. Eurasian Collared Dove):

A nice, if difficult to photograph, series of female Broad-billed Hummingbird, flycatching in a cloud of gnats:

Wow! The HB catching gnats! Really cool!
Focusing/autofocusing on such a small bird so far away is always the challenge. Used the fairly consistent “prefocus to a point in space” followed by waiting for the bird to enter that space, then fine focusing. Lots of the shots in this set came our poorly, but – more by luck than anything – there were enough for a nice sequence.
The collared Dove…with pine cone….really shows how pretty they are!
Seems like there is far fewer Collared Doves around than White-winged Dove & Mourning Dove, so always nice to see.
