Back to Key Biscayne (outside Miami, Florida) earlier this month, at Crandon Park, featuring a great sighting of lovely Little Blue Heron:
Hard to tell scale from the shots above, but here’s the LBH in the background by the road, relative to an Egyptian Goose in the foreground (= smaller than Canada Goose):
And a handy artist’s rendition in comparison to the much larger Great Blue Heron. (Note that LBH and GBH are in different genera, the former of which includes smaller herons and certain egrets.)
