When any bird is captured on film with its wings spread, showing its beauty, that’s really a wonderful shot. A perfect example is of SSHFIII !!!
This time of year, seems like birds are keeping moving for foraging, so it’s a good opportunity to keep shooting until the subject in question takes flight, even if only briefly for hopping from branch to branch. These shots were very dark (dark/cloudy conditions), but came out ok w/ lighting adjustment.

There was a recent article in the paper about the large number of Pelicans at Moro Bay. They are thriving. Perhaps your Erie pelican can fly out there and join them! Mom Edwards loved the story and photos! Fascinating birds!
Bad news. As per the Tamarack Wildlife Center Facebook page as of a couple days ago, the Erie brown pelican succumbed to malnutrition/exposure and unfortunately died, despite concerted medical care efforts. Very sad.
Also goes to show, as nice as it is to see unusual birds in Erie this time of year, it’s better if they’re where they should be, climate/habitat wise.
